How do we use your logo?
Your logo will be used for various communications such as the smrcoc.org website and newsletter to promote your business to the extensive South Metro Chamber network. It is vital that your logo is versatile and high quality as it represents your employees and your business.
What are the minimum logo requirements?
File Type: PNG is preferred but JPEG and GIF are acceptable. Vector-based (EPS, AI or SVG) types are acceptable but may require additional conversion.
Orientation: Horizontal or Square. Vertical logos are not recommended.
File Size: 1MB maximum
Image Size: 400 pixels wide minimum
How do you know if your logo meets the requirements?
Determining the size of your logo can depend on the type of file that you’re working with and the operating system of your computer.
For Mac
- On your Mac, in a Finder window or on the desktop, select the item.
- Choose File > Get Info, or press Command-I.
An information window opens for the item.
For Windows
- Go to Windows Explorer and right-click on the file, folder or drive that you’re investigating.
- From the menu that appears, go to Properties.
This will show you the total file or drive size.
What do these terms mean?
File Type is a name given to a specific kind of file. Some types of images look better when saved as a specific type of file. PNG images are typically regarded as higher quality with raster-based file types with the added benefit of supporting transparent backgrounds. JPEG images will typically have a smaller files size but can distort or pixelate text within the image at smaller sizes. GIF images support a smaller files size with transparent backgrounds but are limited to 256 colors.
Orientation refers to the wether your image is more vertical or horizontal baed on its dimensions.
File Size is the amount of storage space your image will occupy. Factors like image size and compression will contribute to the file size of your image.
Image Size refers to the dimensions of your image – the image height and width.
