The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation released last week that there may be changes coming in 2019. The Bureau is proposing a 20% cut to the average premium rate. This is good news for Ohio Businesses. Improved safety records have reduced the estimates for medical cost. The proposed rate reduction will voted on by the Bureau’s Board of Directors when they meet on February 22. If approved, the new rates will be effective July 1, 2019. This is the largest proposed cut in the Bureau’s history and continues the almost annual reductions that have taken effect since 2006.
